Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop culture: she was the only celebrity to have moved from the country to mainstream, and to become an international icon of pop culture. Swift removed herself from country music as if she was a second skin, and revealed she had the finest pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only artist/singer who could follow the zeitgeist of popular music out on the road. Swift's first hits, particularly the neo celebration of Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. The album from 2008 Fearless revealed a songwriter who was re-discovering herself and gaining a huge following. Fearless became a massive success not just in America with six singles were certified platinum on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and you Belong with Me. But it also smashed records across all over the world. Swift's new album Speak Now, released nearly two years following the previous one, built on this momentum. It propelled Swift to superstardom. Swift's popularity continued to grow through her subsequent three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017) -- and found her moving assuredly into a realm of pop music in which she was already a part. She was on top of the charts until she reverted to her own style on her sister albums, folklore and Evermore in the year 2020.
