April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star in the US is part of a select set of females who've been awarded medals at more than one Olympics. Alix klineman, who is taking part for the very first time in Tokyo's Olympics and will attempt to win her third medal. Ross aims to earn her Olympic debut gold, but she is also aiming to win greater. Her freshman year in 2000 earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of Award and also be named an All-American. She was also one of the key players in helping the Trojans reach it to the Final Four. During her sophomore year she suffered a tremendous personal loss but still managed to make it back as an All-American. In her last two years in the Trojans program, she coached the Trojans to winning a national title every time. She was a fantastic volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female volleyball player in the NCAA. Ross majored in the field of international relations in USC. Margie Ross did not get to watch her daughter's rise to fame as a beach volleyball player. Ross's mother died of cancer of the breast when she was a sophomore at USC. She has kept her mother in her heart. Margie has inspired her both in her personal life and at the beach.
