Kate Hudson, an actor with a lot of talent, is best-known for her part in the Hollywood film Almost Famous. This led to her receiving an Academy Award nomination. Her family is full of film stars her character seemed destined for limelight from an early age--her mother Goldie Hawn is an acclaimed film actor, and her father Bill Hudson is a comedian. At a very young age she was an avid performer and would grab every opportunity to perform on the stage. Her parents made sure she was getting dance lessons, and she was also trained at the Santa Monica Playhouse as a young girl. In the year 1996, she received the role of a guest on the TV drama Party of Five. When she was accepted into New York University by Kate Hudson, her goal was to make a living in show business but not pursue an education. After performing in a few minor films her audition was for the part that would be her big break in her career. The role she was chosen for was Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. While the film did not do well in the box office, it was well received by the critics and resulted in Kate an international star in the American film industry.
